(shift+ctrl)+
ua1 to ua9: ¡¢£¤¥¦§¨©
ub1 to ub9: ±²³´µ¶·¸¹
uc1 to uc9: ÁÂÃÄÅÆÇÈÉ
ud1 to ud9: ÑÒÓÔÕÖרÙ
ue1 to ue9: áâãäåæçèé
uf1 to uf9: ñòóôõö÷øù
As you can see, that way you could get the £ (Pound) and ¥ (Yen) but no € (Euro) character.

ROFLCOPER massive middle finger towards the Euronen currency much?
EDIT / UPDATE
Thanks to burdi01's post below, here the info on how to get the €uronen character:
Ctrl+Shift+U > 20ac > Space or Enter ⇢ €
Is seems to go only from ua1 to uf9 since there is no such transformation function for ug1.
