Hi, I sure understand Porteus is not a rolling distro.
I believe I read somewhere that “current” is considered a rolling release.
So if I installed “current” to usb flash disk and made it persistent, I won’t need to reinstall?
What I care about mainly is not to reinstall and reconfigure not to have the bleeding edge.
Can I change repos to point to “current”? How?
Thank you.

But this is slackware not Porteus!
You mean I should “convert” to slackware though I believe Porteus is more to my taste? It doesn’t run from RAM as Porteus, which is a plus for me for speed.

Porteus is based on Slackware but is not a full release of Slackware. It is just the parts that work for most systems. The Nememis version of Porteus is more a rolling release.
