Do i need to delete windows to run porteus?
Hello Porteusians /pɔ:tj uːʒ(ə)ns/ (I can only assume) i'm a new user allured by the promise of portability and dreams of an "on the go" OS, and im wondering if i need to delete my windows in order to run porteus

No Sire DCA you do not. A copy of options; install to a USB drive or install a boot menu system like Grub2Win and boot the ISO directly or an install on a new partition on the harddrive.

To create a new partition on your hard drive, you can either use Windows to create the partition and then use Linux to change the partition type and format it into a Linux file system, or use Porteus on USB and run gparted (Main menu / system / gparted )
But you have to run Porteus in the mode where no internal hard disk got mounted or else fdisk or gparted would warn you to not make changes on a mounted drive. Doing so would result in data loss.
