Hi everybody,
with Porteus 5.0 RC1 the Touchscreen of my Dell Latitude 5285 works perfect. I have no physical keyboard and touchpad for it so it is necessary that I use the touchscreen in Porteus for the mouse cursor and the virtual keyboard.
Is there any change to get the touchscreen working. I'm really new to Porteus and Slackware but I'm familiar with Ubuntu and Arch so I know a little bit about linux.
I hope you could help me with some tipps.
Thnaks in adavance!!

Touchscreen support Porteus 4.0 Cinnamon
I have a Dell Inspiron notebook with a keyboard and touchpad and touchscreen and Porteus 4.0 and my touchscreen works. Now the question is why. It could be because I have an updated kernel, 14.16.3, or an updated DE, 3.8.6, or a bunch of other modules. Which one is giving me the touchscreen support I don't know. The next question is where did I get them.
The kernel I got from here: http://dl.porteus.org/x86_64/Porteus-v4.0/kernel/. The Cinnamon module I got from jssouza, 003-Cinnamon-180702.xzm, from here: Cinnamon 3.8.6 for Porteus 4 (x86_64)
I hope these help.

Hi Ed_P,
thank you very much for your fast answer. I tried your recommended kernel but I was not successful. But I found in another folder (current) a kernel and tried it (v5.15). The touchscreen and your recommended version of Cinnamon work like a charm. Thank you again.
And by the way, thank you thousand times for your "EFI Secure Boot" - guide. It worked even with 5.0 RC1. But now I`m on 4.0 with updated kernel.
Best regards

You're welcome but I don't recommend that approach. An ISO created by neko in the Cinnamon 3.8.6 thread, with an updated kernel, would be a better option. imofruchttiger87 wrote: ↑31 May 2020, 13:07I found in another folder (current) a kernel and tried it (v5.15). The guide for Secure Boot can be found here: [Solved] Security Boot Fail (Post by Ed_P #66833)
That was my first choice but the latest isos aren't available anymore. Perhaps neko can reupload them. Then I would prefer them because it seems they are excat that what I was looking for :-)
