hi, since when the sbopkg is used the slacky packager do not work anymore so if you want software for current there are people that have repos for like ponce, conraid and other but not for 14.2 if the usm can update only the repos you need good like usm -u only the repos you want, but i think isn't possible,my choice for now is to use Aporteus or with the devel package sbopkg,with a lot of headache,for the missing libs you need.....

Thanks for the follow-up. I am attracted to Aporteus. Will surely do at some point. Porteus 4.2 is quite stable for my use. And I might try nemesis too. I like the speed of nemesis.

I am stuck at 'slackwarepatches' at the moment

[usm doesn't tell which one]

If i look into /var/usm/slackwarepatches/ the CHECKSUMS.md5 file says
872960a21811b59dcd2ad901c183435d ./MANIFEST.bz2
and I got this mismatching file
md5sum MANIFEST.bz2
2c6a6e66cfc5960bc07e7054a439690a MANIFEST.bz2

It's all going downhill......or maybe we should only
update slackware salix alien ponce slackonly.....as long as they are functioning.

I always run usmupdate2021.sh as guest

workaround for now
as root
touch /var/usm/slackwarepatches/{CHECKSUMS.md5,LIBS.TXT,OPTIFEST,PACKAGES.TXT};
then re-run usmupdate2021.sh [as guest]

However, check if your /etc/usm/usm.conf is the one with the complete DISTROS line.

maybe run usmupdate2021.sh as guest before any use of USM
