Yes I'm aware of that, but I've found many of them obsolete or not well maintained at all.

As I stated in the first post, I prefer to get the package from the very source, if exists.

I agree, but both sites provide links to the developers' sites. And yes - some Appimages there are outdated and it's always good to check the developer site for newer versions, but, overall, it's a good place to get an idea what's available in Appimage format.

Blender Grab your version

Anyone aiming for the last stable version (2.80) of Blender can build it like this:
(Example valid on x64 architecture)

Download current stable version from Blender and extract it:

Download AppRun:

OnlyOffice is not working for me.

./DesktopEditors: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libhogweed.so.5: undefined symbol: __gmpn_cnd_sub_n

Had to extract it, and then repackage it removing the offending library (libhogweed). Then it works ok.

Nice thread! I like using appimages, they're quite convenient when using a portable OS. I'd like to add a couple I find really useful:
