Hello,
We are using Porteus Kiosk 4.7 on a panel PC of Cincoze (http://www.cincoze.com/goods_info.php?id=39) with Chrome.
We are using a virtual keyboard extension to make it possible to type.
Our webapplication, an AngularJS app, works fine. We don't get any errors (also not on the console). However, sometimes Chrome behaves strange and does not accept any input. Scrolling is slower than before, but still possible.
If we plugin a keyboard and press F5, the web application is working again.
We can reproduce this problem by swiping on the screen for about 20 seconds up and down constantly.
We found a Linux driver for the touch screen of our device (see the bottom of the page of link above), but do not know if this will solve the problem or even how to install it.
I hope someone can help us with getting Porteus to work on this device. We really like Porteus and the way the kiosk can be managed remotely!
Kinds regards,
Jaap

Hello Jaap,
Please boot latest Ubuntu live CD and try to recreate this issue. If it occurs also on Ubuntu then try to install manufacturer's driver by following the readme file inside the zip archive.
If it helps then you could convert the proprietary driver to xzm module and remaster the kiosk ISO.
In case of troubles please contact with [email protected]:

Hello fanthom,
Thanks for your quick response.
Today we have installed Ubuntu 18.0.4 and installed Chromium on it. Starting the PC and Chromium takes some time, but when finished our web application is working smooth and without any problems.
Kinds regards,
Jaap

1) Please repeat the test with Chrome (bit different than Chromium) under Ubuntu and make sure the browser version is the same version as we have in kiosk (just to be sure its system and not the browser version problem).
2) Did you install eGalax driver or tested opensource shipped with Ubuntu by default?
3) Please recreate this issue in kiosk, login to kiosk over SSH then run:
sh /opt/scripts/debug
and send generated report to [email protected]

Hello fanthom,
Today we did some additional tests with Ubuntu and Chrome, which works correct.
To determine the Chrome version used in Porteus we installed Porteus 4.7 again. For some reason I decided to change the hide-mouse config parameter from hide_mouse=20 to hide_mouse=yes... And guess what: this does solve the problem!
But...another issue seems to popup: in version 4.6 of Porteus we used VNC without problems. With 4.7 we can connect and even control the device, but the screen is not refreshed. You see some scrolling (the 'image' is moving), but never updated. This makes VNC unusable.
I you wish I can create a new topic for this new problem.
I hope you can help us with this issue.
Kind regards,
Jaap
