Here is a place for your projects which are not officially supported by the Porteus Team. For example: your own kernel patched with extra features; desktops not included in the standard ISO like Gnome; base modules that are different than the standard ISO, etc...

I seem to remember that I had to apply the aufs5-loopback.patch to the kernel. Then I was able to activate modules in the live system.
Tks roadie.
"I believe" that it has been applied It may be that aufs5-loopback.patch is out of date.
I'm not sure because I use the neko script to download and apply the patches automatically.

I don't need or apply the loopback patch and therefore don't know if it is valid for 5.8:
http://aufs.sourceforge.net/
There several other patches in aufs5-standalone.git. They are all
optional. When you meet some problems, they will help you.
- aufs5-loopback.patch
Supports a nested loopback mount in a branch-fs. This patch is
unnecessary until aufs produces a message like "you may want to try
another patch for loopback file".

Blaze,
I am unable to build the ntfs3 kernel module on Porteus RC2.
Maybe this is related to the crippled_ sources that you created.
NTFS3 Kernel Module
Update:
ntfs3 can only be built for the latest Kernel
Thanks.
Sorry, my English is bad.

With the exception of the already mentioned loopback, it works correctly (apparently)

.
Thanks for sending the patch.
