Here is a place for your projects which are not officially supported by the Porteus Team. For example: your own kernel patched with extra features; desktops not included in the standard ISO like Gnome; base modules that are different than the standard ISO, etc...

[Updated kernel Examples]
==== AUFS Kernel only for Porteus ====
6.4.7 <--
NEW : "All patches" patching was done.
086033a35a1b0c956d9c0d99b5cc45d1 64bit-ALL-kernel6.4.7.tar
Thanks for this - I tried it and it exhibits the same "hang" on boot as my build of 6.4.7 does.
The problem does however seem to be specific to my desktop - Dell Precision T5400 with Intel Xeon processors
I also tried the 6.5-rc4 produced by neko - again thanks - and that boots OK........

If this issue of kernel config you can try to check it via option
compile with the config of only your PC driver :ONLY

Could you guys try this kernel 6.3.13 and check if it shutdowns/reboots properly (i.e. union is not mounted as read-only because it fails to unmount;
reference)?
https://we.tl/t-cPWKVb2sJl
Please note that the goal of this kernel is not to provide support to all devices -- it may not be usable for most users. The idea here is
only to check for the above issue and see if it got fixed.
Thanks

Hi fulalas, can you upload your kernel on another cloud?
I have sanctions from we.tl service.
BTW not bad if you share patchs what you applied.

This thread is primarily intended to provide a tool (kernel builder) to easily build kernels.
I'm sorry, but I don't have the skills to accomplish what you said.
Thanks.

extraneous confirmation here, for EXT4, at least. thankyou to J. R. Okajima and fulalas.
during testing, i've noticed that when using EXT2, there's an unclean dismount issue, that if kernel related, affects a wider range of kernels(including the patched one)
testing with an old porteus 4.0 installation(with an old kernel), there's no problem.. have yet to try a newer kernel with that, which might eliminate the kernel angle.

yeah, just tested porteus 4.0 ext2 and the patched 6.3 and it seems fine.. something else is going on here.. maybe the usbs are dodgy..

FWIW......
My boot problem with 6.4.7 onwards (nouveau with Nvidia Gt218) was caused by:
https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/ke ... id2=v6.4.6
Reverting uconn.c to the 6.4.6 version solved the problem pro tem ..... I will monitor future releases for a permanent fix.
