Add printer support & include ghostscript
Something that bothered many users with Slax was (No printing support), it would be a GREAT thing, a killer feature to have Printing support by default in Remix. This would be helped by the inclusion of ghostscript within Remix. What do other features would users like to see that was not there in default Slax?
This of course if size does not matter , and I believe in this age and times, it should not. If you want something small might as well go for Tiny Core , Just a thought, please post your thoughts and if you agree, let's convince fanthom & jayflood.

Re: Add printer support & include ghostscript
can't promise to add it to 64bit build as i'm very tight in space (and i'm still targeting 300MB). having it as external module could be very useful indeed.
Please add [Solved] to your thread title if the solution was found.

Yes ... count me among those who feel there is little value in sticking to < 200mb. In my years of burning, I have only bought one box of the small cd's, and still have some left. Once you go past 200 then there's little reason to stop again until you get close to 700mb.
My Slax / remix buildups typically run to ~ 450mb.

Excellent. We agree here Hope that fanthom & jayflood consider this. It would be great and many users would be happier I believe that is the case.

Hmmm
wonder if i left out devel n ff still able to fit to Micro CD (200ish) to save wear n tear on i586 n i686
on laptop/notebook 1/3 of Micro/mini dvd (less than 350) would save wear n tear.
just thinking out loud for poor bugger who still got cd reader thats all

Re: Add printer support & include ghostscript
I have printer support with HPLIP (slax modules from kenney) in 32 bits. The three modules make 68 MB together. They work for me ok. My HP Deskjet D1600 installs automatically and prints text, graphics, pdf, etc. ok.
The kenney modules are:

http://www.slax.org/modules/3120/dl/703 ... b-pack.lzm
http://www.slax.org/modules/3119/dl/702 ... bus-gs.lzm
converted to sq4. You can download them from my site, http://ingenieria.read.net/repository

You can lzm2dir the modules from kenney to check what is all about and using them as guide then make the 64-bit version

Porteus is proud of the FASTEST KDE ever made.....(take akonadi, nepomuk and soprano out and you will have a decent OS).
