specific than a book or a lecture, a tutorial seeks to teach by example and supply the information to complete a certain task.
Howdy... Neighbors!!!

I made this thread to see how much alpha I could load into the base WITHOUT breaking it.

Yep... I've decided to wander off the reservation and go ROGUE by... remastering persistance using /mnt/~/porteus/base/003-*.*.xzm.
Ok... I confess. I'm a NOT big fan of Gordian Knot s (nots?) which is why I like cutting them.

So let's get started...

Short version...

.01_ First... copy /mnt/~/porteus/base/003-*.*.xzm to /home/guest (using your favorite file manger in root mode... mine is Xfe )
.02_ then... right click on /home/guest/003-*.*.xzm select "Extract" and extract the module
.03_ then... right click the manager window and select "Show Hidden"
.04_ then... open /home/guest/003-*.*/home/guest/.config
.05_ then... open /home/guest/.config (in another tab)
.06_ then... copy /home/guest/.config to /home/guest/003-*.*/home/guest/.config
.07_ then... open /home/guest/003-*.*/home/guest right click on /home/guest/003-*.*/home/guest/.config and select properties "permissions" tab
.08_ then... change the Owner/Group fields to "guest" then select "Ok"
.09_ then... using the USM convert /home/guest/003-*.* ...to 003-*.*.xzm
.10_ then... using IsoMaster replace the orginal Porteus 003-*.*.xzm with the new one
Done.
Long version...
(under construction...

Pls Note... the basic idea of remastering this way is to... avoid the "changes" cheatcode bloat and instability.
Also Note: This approach can also be used with 003-*.*/root/.config
"Best Regards"...
