Wow! Great work! These honestly look cool. I notice that a new wallpaper was added to the rc2 already!

(I don't know how I found myself in this section, but I'm glad I did! I usually just post in General and Development.)

Oh, and, just one little suggestion... the "underwater ray of light" background pic is copyrighted by MS for Build 6936 of Windows 7 Beta. I don't think we'd want to include that one, lest any strictly proprietary, open-source-hating people complain...

@Blaze: You're thinking of the wrong picture. Yours is absolutely fine, as well as all the other pictures--**except** the one I was mentioning. I hope there's no offense taken.

The one I'm referring to is the one that sported the Aurora for Windows Blackcomb before the fish was added to it in early Windows 7 betas, but particularly in the build described. The picture I was referring to simply had a Porteus logo overlaid on over the Aurora, in the list of new Porteus wallpapers that are listed in the link. Look specifically for the picture that has "underwater ray of light" in the title. And, besides, I was only pointing that out to be helpful--it doesn't really matter, I guess...

No problem with the underwater image. The base is from hd wallpapers freely available and no sign of a license anywhere on the download page. Perhaps MS copyrighted the image with the fish.

I noticed that the picture I have referred to has made it into rc3, and it would appear, version 1.0.

Guys, I've run Windows 7 (and run it)--and this picture, despite how many sites are freely uploading it as if a Linux picture, is property of MS with the earlier Windows 7 betas. The backdrop used is the Blackcomb Aurora for Build 6936. Google Windows 7 Build 6936 with Google Images if nothing else, if you still don't believe me, and that picture will pop up. Now, in the gold release and the later betas and rcs, this picture was eventually removed, but the point is, it was used. I really believe that we should at least use a different backdrop for the wallpaper for the new release!

Again, this is only a suggestion, and I don't wish to be a bother at it, but I thought it would be helpful.

Can you point me to a copyright? If this is so much of an issue, we can use a different image. Chances are the next release will follow the current trend and have a different wallpaper anyway. As i stated ... i don't believe the backdrop is microsofts invention, nor do they own (or have purchased) any copyright for it. The website mentioned above offers freely available downloads of it also.
