You are using USM version: 3.1.7
Latest version is v3.1.9
Are you familiar with the Porteus module concept in that any module downloaded/updated need to go in the modules folder? I am thinking perhaps you downloaded and installed the v3.1.9 update and then rebooted right back into USM-v3.1.7.
When I get home I will check the actual file on ponces server and make sure it is in fact in a gzip format.

But it seems that it's ponte database the one that is not updated.
I'm getting frustrated...

Understood. It shouldn't be this awkward but sometimes things happen. Sorry.
Do you know how to change USM's download mirrors? I don't unfortunately but if Bogomips comes back he can tell you how to switch the ponce mirror to the one that works for him.
My concern is why did your rebooting cause USM to regress from 3.1.9 to 3.1.7. If changes are being saved how did that happen.

I know how to change the USM mirror, but I don't know which mirror will work.
Regarding that downgrade... I really don't know.
It seems that every time that I boot the system, I lose the update. But it's awkward...
In my last trial, everything gets updated except ponce... so finally, USM doesn't work.
I will go to sleep... Tomorrow I will have a hard day...
Thanks for your help!!!

Did you try this one?

You've installed the system to your flash drive yes? Did you format the flash drive before installing it? If the format is FAT32 that would explain the lost updates. And that can be resolved.
Enjoy your rest.

I have tried the server you mention. (And nothing)
The pendrive is in FAT32 as I format it from Windows.
I have created my profile with the convenient .dat file and I have edit and change porteus.cfg file, so I shouldn´t lose any update or change.
I will begin from zero, so actually I´m downloading a new ISO and we will see if it works.
1. ISO downloading.
2. Copy to FAT32 pendrive just formatted.
3. Run 1st time in fresh mode, so I will create my .dat file and I will setup anything for my user.
4. Reboot
5. Run with my profile. Logout. Go to root and then try to update USM. Then Database (one by one)
It should work...

No way...
Same result...
Everything updated except ponce, so there is no database on USM.
At least, USM 1.9.
Tomorrow I will try again, but please, some ideas...
But I like this distro... During this afternoon and evening, I have tried some other... and no way!!!
-Slax can't support my wireless system

Sounds like a good plan.

Once you boot to a fresh install of Porteus go [/url=
http://sourceforge.net/projects/usm/fil ... z/download] here [/url] and download the v3.1.9 module and place it in /mnt/sdXy/porteus/modules/ folder on your installation media. This will make the module persist on next reboot. Now reboot. Don't worry about any changes= codes or savedat files.
Open USM and verify that you have the latest version 3.1.9:
usm -v
If you have the latest USM v3.1.9 try and update your databases again.
usm -u all

In that he has already done this:

is downloading the USM module necessary? And if in the /porteus/modules/ folder won't it override any 3.1.10+ modules that USM may have in the future?
Sorry, kinda thinking out loud.
