try "cat /etc/porteus-version"

I got the version info by 'cat /etc/porteus-version'. But I feel 'uname -a' is a more commonly used command and if version is clearly shown there, it will give a good impression.

that would require messing up with the hostname variable. extra dot (porteus-1.0.example.net) may cause the troubles so i would stay with /etc/porteus-version instead.
