[Solved] Mouse's Cursor of strange shape

Post#1 by Michele13 » 30 Apr 2015, 23:15

Hello, I don't know what happened but now my cursor has a strange appearence, it's big and looks like this

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/166 ... 010554.jpg

but if I take a screenshot it looks normal. How can I fix it? I can't use my mouse very well...also the volume indicator looks different then usual but I don't really care of that.

EDIT:
the problem is not in the modules that I've used. Something else screwed everything. I wonder what it is...the problem is in the savefile, I've deleted XFCE4's config directory and I messed everything up. Fortnately I was able to set it up in the way I want, but the problem is still present :)

EDIT 2:

The problem is system wide. I tried to log out, log in as root (the only other user that was present), disable conky at bootup inside guest account and rebooted the system and nothing worked...There are some icons that are not displayed inside the menu (such as fceux or the hp printing program preinstalled with porteus)

@Michele13
Can you try the standard ISO, not a custom made one from the Porteus build configurator? COuld be that a rare used combination creates the error, as slim as the change might be...

Also, please run the very same system (with all modules identical) on another machine to confirm the error.

Does your system has a touch screen?

Also, run psinfo and post the info at pastebin and link to that pastebin in your next post.
Cheers!

I used a standard XFCE ISO and then added development, printing module, updates and a bunch of others

unfortunately I don't have another PC to try it on..

Nope

I've fixed the problem by cleaning my save file (I deleted everything except the home folder. :wall: I'll post a pastebin from my system

I'll try to replicate the problem and put a paste of psinfo here

When it's fixed for now, maybe it stays this way. :)

I set the initial post subject to [Solved]. Remove the [Solved] from the initial post thread subject and post a new post in this very thread if the error reappears.
Cheers!
