Sorry for that old question but forum search doesn't allow searching for "convert module sq4":
How do I convert slax-classic-modules to sq4.lzm-modules?
The modules-tools in my version don't offer the convert-option anymore.
Found a bunch of classic-lzms which I really would like to extract/convert.

When I post a thread then actually because:
-I wanna discuss WHY I do this or that
-I like linux so much and everything with open source
-I want it as complicate as possible
-I wanna recompile my kernel
-I adore other peoples computer-knowledge

Re: Convert modules (sq3 to sq4)
@nucleus
if you are using 64bits then you won't be able to convert 32bit sq3 modules to sq4.
Reason: 32bit unsquashfs needs 32bit libraries which are not included in 64 bit distro.
Also: i would like to force users to use 64bit native applications, (multilib env is still possible - read FAQ)

@ fanthom,
I agree with you for Squashfs-Tool (4.2) with XZ Support.
