You will need the firmware installed for the card to be recognized. Is this a tablet?

Re: Dell Venue Pro 11 Wi-Fi not recognized
Here is an example, I have a toshiba ultraslim z930 laptop with intel core i5. Adapt it to your computer.
1) My graphic card, VGA Intel Ivy Bridge was satisfied out of the box with porteus.
2) However wifi was not.
bash-4.2# dmesg | grep iwlwifi
...
iwlwifi 0000:02:00.0: request for firmware file 'iwlwifi-2030-6.ucode' failed.
iwlwifi 0000:02:00.0: request for firmware file 'iwlwifi-2030-5.ucode' failed.
...
3) Find a package with my wifi card: iwlwifi-2030-6.ucode or iwlwifi-2030-5.ucode. I found the following download site:
https://github.com/OpenELEC/wlan-firmware/
Download all the firmware. I did it with the zip file.
4) Extract the package with ark, find and copy the appropriate driver to /lib/firmware/ and use command 'modprobe -r iwlwifi && modprobe iwlwifi' to get it running:
bash-4.2# modprobe -r iwlwifi && modprobe iwlwifi
bash-4.2#
At next bootup you should be able to use wifi thru network management setting.

Re: Dell Venue Pro 11 Wi-Fi not recognized
no hope for this card until upstream adds support for it and we bump the kernel (at least few months from now on i would say):

It's a pity. The specs say it could have the intel card in which case you would have luck. Since the drm helper in your log shows i915 I assumed it would be intel, but then you would prob see it if ti was intel.
