Changes to development and forum. Moderators needed.

New features which should be implemented in Porteus; suggestions are welcome. All questions or problems with testing releases (alpha, beta, or rc) should go in their relevant thread here, rather than the Bug Reports section.

I might partially (KDE) qualify for that, but my occupational pattern wouldn't let me fulfill my duties...
So the answer is no.
Porteus is proud of the FASTEST KDE ever made.....(take akonadi, nepomuk and soprano out and you will have a decent OS).
The Porteus Community never sleeps!

@phhpro:
Glad to read that you will be more often around. This will surely free the devs some more time. Concerning maturity, honesty and pudor we're ready to greet your wise advice.

Me was über busy for some weeks, so it took it's time till I found this post.

I am sure mostly qualified for XFCe, scripting, text based setup stuff, and less for any other GUI specifics,

Do I get that right that 3 other people already volunteered, as in: ed_P, tome and wread? Or not wread? And no one else? (From this thread)
Or are there others who already have been mods?

When it it at least 4 folks, including me, then I volunteer as well... :)

And what the devs write is all correct. It will free much time, some longer, old-time contributors can do most of the work as it is named in the posts above, and with a new bug tracking system and the FAA thingy, I can see it working just fine.

How will the buck tracking work? Something like bugzilla?
Cheers!

hi Rava,

i have bumped you to the moderator now. please use this function wisely.
all what we expect is that you give a help to new users on the forum and mark threads FAA (for attention of an admin) if some problem is not resolved for a few days since the last post.

thank you
Please add [Solved] to your thread title if the solution was found.

I will help, unless I know nothing about some rare hardware or such.

So, that means I should rename the initial post of the thread, rename the title from, say, "Old Title" into "FAA Old Title"?
Cheers!

Is on here a way to see unanswered posts?

Like in http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/, that would be http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/search ... plylimit=0 ???
Cheers!

I switched off the minichat, but I found it:
Unbeantwortete Themen • Ungelesene Beiträge • Neue Beiträge • Aktive Themen
(The first two translate into "unanswered threads * Unread threads" )

Now I can finally work as a mod here. Image

● List of all moderators? ●

I looked for a way to get a list of all moderators, seems http://forum.porteus.org/memberlist.php not has the ability.

Is there still a way to see that or do this info has to be posted by admins, e.g. in here?

Why do I ask, you might wonder? Cause I found one post that I cannot be of any help, but wanted to ask all other mods first if anyone can add some advice prior setting the thread to "alert admins" status.
Cheers!

I will also volunteer to be a moderator and help new users.
I have more than 15 years of experience with linux.
I like Porteus and will try to make it even better.
I was born with nothing and I still got most of it.
