LxQt/Porteus password issue...
Salutations...
When I use the root password (toor) it is accepted in LxQt/Porteus 64 bit.
When I use the guest password (guest) is not accepted.
My attempts to enter "guest" results in the login restarting.
Best Regards...

I am referring to what I am experiencing. Any information to help me resolve this issue is welcome.
Razor/Porteus is outstanding and still works fine. Resolving this issue will help me switch to LxQt/Porteus.
Best Regards...

Re: LxQt/Porteus password issue...
More info needed. If you are starting from a vanilla Porteus with no extra modules added (in always fresh mode) I am sure you will find this is working fine. Most probably you have something extra added that has overwritten a file preventing you from logging in. If you can log in as root then open a console and type: passwd guest
Then follow the prompt and change the password to whatever you want.

Re: LxQt/Porteus password issue...
Salutations...
I did a plain Vanilla install (of LxQt/Porteus) from my "live" USB flash installation to my HDD.
When I boot from my HDD the login ignores the guest password.
It only accepts the root login.
In contrast... LxQt/Porteus boots just fine on my unetbootin' USB flash installation.
However... ONLY if I don't install LxQt/Porteus to my HDD.
If I install LxQt/Porteus to the HDD... then the USB flash ignores the guest password.
Then somehow... (after being forced to boot as root) ...
all changes made during the HDD root session... end up on the USB flash when I try to use it.
And then... the USB flash ignores the guest password.
I'm using an Ext4 format on the USB flash and the HDD.
I'm using an AMD A6-1450 64 bit SoC quad core APU w/ 4gbs of memory.
So for now I'm just using the live USB w/out a HDD install.
Best Regards...

Re: LxQt/Porteus password issue...
Is there a peculiar reason why you hold so much to have unetbootin and porteus together on hdd?
Did you choose the specific partition on the hdd to install porteus? What is it? Is is for porteus only? What filesystem is it?
What is your bootloader?

I have LxQt/Porteus installed on both my USB stick and my netbook.
My USB stick and netbook also have a dual boot of Razor/Porteus.
Which works fine. I'm trying to use the same successful approach
that worked with Razor/Porteus on LxQt/Porteus.
Best Regards...

My USB stick and netbook also have a dual boot of Razor/Porteus.
here you go - many installations sharing saved changes which is causing conflicts. please refer to documentation and setup changes for each installation separately by using 'changes=folder_with_unique_name' cheatcode.

Your solution seems workable but doesn't explain why Razor/Porteus is not having the any problems.
What is different about LxQt/Porteus that is causing this problem?

RazorQt means previous release and i have changed the way the changes are searched somewhere between 3.0 and 3.1. from now on booting media are checked first and then all devices in reverse order.
