Dymo LabelWriter (Thermo printer)

Post#1 by MartinL » 31 Oct 2014, 11:33

I have tried to compile the driver and create a XZM-module myself according to instructions, but I just can't get it to work / I'm too new on this.

Dymo driver is available at http://download.dymo.com/Software/Linux ... 4.0.tar.gz and it compiles well on Porteus.

Also, I don't know anything about configuring default setting for printers, the PPD-files I would use is lwduol.ppd, It has the correct printer label In the list:
*PageSize w154h286.1/99014 Name Badge Label: " , but not as default.

I'm looking for using Porteus-Kiosk with this Dymo Labelwriter, maybe there is some compatible driver to use?

Hi MartinL!

Try this one, maybe it works for you...

Cheers!
Porteus is proud of the FASTEST KDE ever made.....(take akonadi, nepomuk and soprano out and you will have a decent OS).

if wread's module wont work then you could wait for next major kiosk release planned for December which adds support for this printer:
http://porteus-kiosk.org/news.html#140918
http://porteus-kiosk.org/screens/news/1 ... inters.txt

you may have a look on this thread to find out how to change default printer settings:
http://forum.porteus.org/viewtopic.php?f=127&t=3755

as usual in such cases - if you get stuck somewhere then i could make this build for you through the commercial 'customized builds' service:
http://porteus-kiosk.org/builds.html

thanks
