Request to add printer driver

Hello,

I would like to have support for a Canon Pixma MG5422 printer. I have tried the other Canon Pixma MG drivers currently supported by the Kiosk edition, but no luck.

How do I go about getting this driver into my build? Is it best to request that the driver be added to the officially supported list of printers and compile with the wizard, or manually add the driver as a module?

this printer will be supported in next major kiosk release planned for December:

if you cant wait that long then you may subscribe to 'automatic updates' (or enable a trial of this service) and get the driver right now:

all what you need to do is to select any Canon printer from the list in the wizard -> edit kiosk config settings manually and change the model to:

printer_model=Canon Pixma MG5422

after a reboot kiosk will upgrade to latest version and your printer should start working

if you dont want to enable 'automatic updates' then you may request a custom build with updated printing module:

finally - if you dont want to spend any money on this then you have to upgrade gutenprint package manually in the 10-printing.xzm module:

then do as explained above:
