Can 3.1rc1 be tested with an existing save.dat file or does it require starting from scratch?
And can I assume it doesn't require a bash patch module?

a) i guess you'll be targeting lxqt so better start with clean dat as this is completely new DE. besides - this is development version and many things may change so for this only reason it would be better to start with clean dat.
b) we are using official bash package from slackware patches. if it does not cover all vulnerabilities then we have to wait on Pat.
