I forgot to mention, for your purpose you can probably do: usm -g alpine nodeps
This should just search the i486 database, retrieve the link and download the file without dependency resolution. Not sure how you would chroot into porteus. You'd need to unpack all the modules to a real file system.

It's mainly being able to get the right / wanted module. I then just transfer it to another machine to be used there.
