I switched to Porteus 3.0 XFCE just today, and I thought it would be a good idea to select 'Root' as user type when building the ISO. Everything installed fine, and Porteus booted with root alright. However, when I tried opening Google Chrome, I got this error:
"Google Chrome could not be started as root. Please open Google Chrome as normal user."
As it was specified when building the ISO, Porteus automatically boots into root account when 'Always Fresh' is selected. This means that I have to log out and log in to guest account every time I boot.
Is there a way to solve this issue? Thanks!

Re: Google Chrome Error
Apparently, the solution is to add "user-data-dir" as shown in this link.

Personally, I never run a browser as root.

Re: Google Chrome Error
or yo ucan remove every occurrence of 'login=root' from /boot/syslinux/porteus.cfg so you will be logged on 'guest' account automatically.
Please add [Solved] to your thread title if the solution was found.
