This is my first post so please be gentle with me. I have added Porteus Linux to facebook, let me explain. I come from Windows and Novell 3 and 4, even had a schooling back in the early 90's for Novell 3 + 4 and Novell Netware. I have been messing around with linux for about 10 years, but could not get into the way of thinking, the Unix way. I have tried everything under the linux banner and some of the BSD's as well, but was always left out in the rain at some point, until one fine day I tried Slax. This I found worked 'Out-of-the-box' with no problems, not only that but it could see my scsi raid discs formatted with NTFS2. The problem with Slax is it is not being developed any further, maybe one day, but the world must move on, a great pity. And then I found on the slax forum talk about slax-remix, great me jumping up and down, things are moving at last. After some time came Porteus came out. This system is fantastic. For people coming from a Windows XP Pro platform puts linux into a new light, such as, easy to install, fast, will do every thing under the sun, works on all motherboards, its so easy compared with XP, and is secure. This idea of open-source/free software is something we all must be able to help with. This is the main reason for me putting Porteus onto Facebook. I hope you will forgive me, but I have used your logo, so if you have any designs on this then I will change the logo to just Porteus Linux, but it dose link the aims of Porteus on Facebook with the community.come and have a look, and promote Porteus in every way we can.
