Are the MANIFEST files no longer used/needed in newer usm?
No. Since v3.1.6.

I just checked usm-v3.1.7 in Porteus-v3.1rc1-xfce and gimp is found no problems.

Must be. We released Porteus yesterday and I replaced flashplayer in the opera package the day before which at the time was at minor 406, so I guess another (minor 411) was released yesterday or today. Damn.

@bogomips

I don't have any slackyd on Port 3.0.1 x86-64... I not recall when last trying to use slackyd... Was that never part of Port (and I had to activate slackyd module I forgot about back then), or was it just dropped in 3.0.1?

Code: Select all

root@porteus:/etc# cat porteus-version
Porteus-v3.0.1
root@porteus:/etc# slackyd
-su: slackyd: command not found
root@porteus:/etc# sla[tab]
slabtop   slattach
???
Cheers!

@ Rava

On starting with Porteus 3.0.0 slackyd was already dropped. So

Code: Select all

usm -g slackyd
As it's so small normally install it from rc.local, running always fresh.

@bogomips

Thanks for the heads up... Sadly, my personal usm bug bit me again:

Code: Select all

root@porteus:/etc# usm -g slackyd

 Nothing found for:  slackyd
Even updating to 3.0.1 and using neko's 001-core5.xzm (that got newest usm already) not solved any of my weird usm issues...

I have to start 3.1rc1 or a different machine to look it that would better my issues...

If not, then it must be some stuff I put in my personal "changes" module named 990-rootcopy_[version+date] or 991-rootcopy_[version+date] module(s)
Cheers!
Yours Rava

Updated USM database so you can grab flashplayer-plugin latest now.

@Rava

There is nothing to stop you from downloading latest usm txz package from git hub, and installing it, is there?

I froze development until the rc1 release. Where did you get your imagemagick package from?

usm's imagemagick display did not display, owing to documented bug. Updated to latest version from Arch, and now following upgrade from 9.7 to 9.8, carried out dependency verification.

Ok. I am not familiar with arch packages but USM relies on a valid slackware style /var//log/packages file for dependency resolution.

Got package from arch, exploded it, made install, slack-desc, then created slackware package using makepkg, which deleted symlinks and created doinst.sh. Verified using installpkg. Did not complain, description came up, indicating txz had valid name formatting.
