Hi,
Just tried the latest release of Porteus kiosk on a Pentium 4, 1.3GHz with 256 mb ram booting from cdrom.
I did a standard install but added the "old" flash module. The browser ran to slow to be usable on any site.
Are there anything I can do to speed it up besides maybe not including flash?
I take it Porteus should be able to run just fine on a Pentium 4?
Regards,
Jess

Re: Pentium 4
just checked in Vbox with 256MB of RAM assigned and the kiosk was flying (although i have stronger CPU).
please go to http://build.porteus.org/kiosk/ and do following:
a) enable zRAM and set it to 30%
b) disable 'copy data to RAM'
c) enable swap (if you have such partition on hd)
maybe the issue is related to your GPU card?
please type 'about:preferences' in firefox's URL bar -> go to Advanced -> unmark 'Use smooth scrolling' and 'Use hardware acceleration when available'
let me know if that helped.
