Hi art4core
1:
I can't confirm this, because right now I installed mate-32bit from a live-cd
to an usb-flash.I was asked for a Pw just to start the Installer.
It was toor and all was fine here.
2:
what do you mean?.read/write to/from or install to?
please read the Documentation in /boot/docs
3:
to change the language go to
system > administration > porteus settings center > system settings and click
on the Language setup button.

Did you change the default password when you create your build at build.porteus.org? This may be why. If not then default password is toor. Nobody else has reported problems installing in this manner.
Porteus supports fat32 and ntfs but you will have to make a save file in order to save your changes. In other words, porteus will boot from these file systems but in order to save changes a container file with a Linux file system is required. As suggested please read documentation for further info.
