system-config-printer provides a simpler interface than CUPS for printer setup. I would like to see the packages on PPM. See:
viewtopic.php?f=61&t=1994
System-config-printer and the dependencies that are needed:
system-config-printer
dbus-python
foomatic-filters
ghostscript-9.05
gutenprint
notify-python
pycairo
pycups
pycurl
pygobject
pygtk
python
system-config-printer
Thanks.

To make a porteus module proposition for system-config-printer on porteus 32 bit, I have tried to download from the net, install and get running sytem-config-printer and the dependencies associated with it for porteus v. 2.0 porteus edition (similar packages of 486 that work with x86_64 edition), but I get an error:
Code: Select all
oot@porteus:/# system-config-printer
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/share/system-config-printer/system-config-printer.py", line 29, in <module>
import dbus
ImportError: No module named dbus
root@porteus:/#
I am stuck here.
Any suggestions?
