USB disk LOCK (drive locked -> no writing)

how to solve locked USB stick? i played with formatting to several.. XT2 XT3 NTFS FAT32 ........ now i cannot write anything anymore. size is ok. 4GB

hi can be you have an U3 usb flash drive, on the net exist software that can remove the hidden directory present on, try fdisk -l after you have plugged in the key.

FYI The U3 Launchpad menu has the option to remove U3 from the flash drive. No 3rd party hack needed.

BTW I have two of these flash drives, both bootable, both still have their U3 drive, one formated to NTFS to handle large backup files. I have found no need or reason to remove the U3 CD drive and wish they were still being made.

What brand flash drive are you using? And why did you reformat it?

somehow reformatting helped. .... somehow. but several reformattings
