Hi guys! I wanna ask you about your work. I know that you can make good money online. I want to test it, so I need someone who has a lot of experience in this business. I found this website [removed SPAM link] has many positive reviews. I'm thinking of trying to make money there. If you know how to use such sites, I ask for feedback. Thank you!

Hi all, just saying hi and kudos to the Porteous team for such an awesome OS. My netbook had windows 7 basic, which was ok but was too laggy for even basic use. I installed Porteus and now the netbook is blazing fast. Just love the sleek interface. Thank you all for the efforts and providing the OS free of charge..

Happy to hear that. Even when I am just the smallest of helper when it comes to the OS.sushant wrote: ↑06 Jan 2019, 09:20Hi all, just saying hi and kudos to the Porteous team for such an awesome OS. Have you installed the i586 or the x86-64 (the 64 Bit) version?
Cheers!

Hi. Installed Porteus 5.0RC1 Xfce to a usb stick and it's really impressive, specially how quick it boots.
After some trials and errors, I eventually installed it to a ext4 second partition and left the first fat32 so data can be accessible in Windows.
Installed the Keepassxc appimage so I have all the passwords for the portable browsing. Couldn't install it from any repo but maybe it was better this way as appimage seems great.
I tried to install chntpw (Windows password reset tool) from the repo too but archive (from slackonly) was corrupted. I found a static one in its homepage but haven't had an opportunity to use and test that.
One little newbie observation: in the boot menu, there's an entry to boot the first partition of the hard drive (hd0 1). At least when installing Porteus in the second partition of the removable drive, hd0 1 will try to boot its first partition, so I have to change to hd1 for it to find the PC hard drive, so I have added help text to that entry so I remember to edit its parameters to match whatever machine I might be using.

Hello friends, my name is gary_gangler. I'm currently using Porteus 5.0 from USB drive as a temporary OS as my laptop SSD boot sector was damaged beyond repair.
(I'm a newbie when it comes to Linux though)

Hi all!
I want to say thank you to all of you guys for an AWESOME, AWESOME DISTRO.
I have just got it working on an old hp compaq nx6310 with an intel t5500 processor and 3 gigs of ram. It took me 2 very frustrating days to get the broadcom wifi working (BCM4322) but I'm glad I stuck with it. I almost gave up yesterday but luckily it all works now. I have working sound, wifi and it's running EXACTLY what I need on this laptop (firefox) and nothing more. I have to say I'm loving the idea of modules.
I just need to get my head around updates, modules, rootcopy
Thank you very much indeed for all the hard work.
EDIT: Forgot to mention that I'm running Porteus-XFCE-v5.0rc1-x86_64.iso
