[Solved] Porteus Settings Centre" doesn't start on 2.0 RC2
This is from a simple remaster with just:
1) /home/guest/.vnc folder included in the rootcopy
2) Tigervnc and it's dependencies in modules (tigervnc-1.1.0-i486-1.xzm, gnutls-3.0.23-i486-1.xzm,libtasn1-2.12-i486-1.xzm,nettle-2.5-i486,p11-kit-0.12-i486-1.xzm)
Thanks

Does it start from a terminal?
ktsuss /opt/porteus-scripts/porteus-settings-centre
If so please check the desktop file and see what is in the exec= line.
grep "Exec=" /usr/share/applications/gtk-porteus-settings-centre.desktop
ktsuss /opt/porteus-scripts/porteus-settings-centre

OK thanks,
@hamza
xpsinfo starts but when I chose to upload it. It took a long time and responded with:
@brokenman
Yes it started from the command line you gave.
The output to your grep was:
Exec=/opt/porteus-scripts/xorg/psu "/opt/porteus-scripts/porteus-settings-centre"

Did you modified base modules ? Did you added an new module in your remastered ISO? Did you you used the rootcopy to store your files?
Which operating system did you used to remaster the ISO?
Which operating system did you used to remaster the ISO?
It seems there is an issue with pastebin API.xpsinfo starts but when I chose to upload it. It took a long time and responded with:

Please upload your ISO somewhere as mediafire.com and we'll have a look.

It does start here with your remastered ISO. This means there is either a conflict with your additional modules or you're using the changes feature and there's a "bad" changes inside.

Can you explain what you mean by 'changes feature'?
Thanks
Thanks

Simple question. Are you using changes cheatcode on a writable media as a HDD or an USB stick ?

Re: Porteus Settings Centre" doesn't start on 2.0 RC2
Oh yes. I used a cheat code to startup vncserver since it gave errors about it not finding /home/guest/ folder. Not sure why /home/guest folder isn't found but as soon as I moved it from rc.local to the cheatcode location /boot/porteus.cfg then vncserver started up without a problem.
And yes I took that ISO and installed it to a HDD.
It's still very strange though that you can boot that ISO and Porteus Settings Centre starts. I try it and it doesn't. I mean it's the same ISO image.

Please try to boot up your ISO using "Always Fresh" mode.

Re: Porteus Settings Centre" doesn't start on 2.0 RC2
Yes that worked and It started up the Porteus Settings Centre but it didn't start up vncserver since the modules didn't load. Is that how you started yours? I thought you were able to boot the ISO normally and have the Porteus Settings Centre start with the vncserver and dependency modules loaded.
So close yet so far

Re: Porteus Settings Centre" doesn't start on 2.0 RC2
OK so from the "Always Fresh" mode I activated all the 5 modules and it still started the Porteus Settings Centre. As soon as I started the vncserver, then I tried and it did not start the Porteus Settings Centre.
