Internet setup [SOLVED]

I'm having trouble trying to set up internet connection in Porteus. I can see a list of wireless networks, but after several seconds of connecting any attempt fails. Wired connection doesn't work either. I have already tried several advices found on this board, to no avail though. Help!

i see you are using fairly old porteus version so i would suggest you to upgrade to porteus-1.2 first:

from the log file i could see that your eth0 interface has troubles:

will dig into that later.

i couldn't find any wireless adapter. is it usb dongle, pcmcia card or something else?

please upgrade to porteus-1.2 and if you still experience network troubles then please post output of 'lsmod' command and upload /ver/log/messages to pastebin.com

How do I upgrade Porteus? Is it as simple as extracting the ISO file over the old files on my pendrive and running the installation script again?

My wireless adapter is a PCIMCIA card. I had forgotten to plug it in before I ran the system info utility, that's why it's not included on the list.

make sure you delete all old files.

nice - i have a very little experience with such hardware so will have an opportunity to learn something new

please upgrade to 1.2 and post all details possible (psinfo, lsmod, /var/log/messages, lsusb, etc).

btw: may i ask where did you find download link to porteus-1.0?

I think I have downloaded it from the official website, but it was a long time ago.
