you must be root for use it, in guest account you need to open a super user konsole for start lampp,

Hi,

I now do not have time enough to check it but I know I started XAMPP automatically at boot on my previous Slax distribuion.
Then I did not need to always switch to root to run it and it stop it automatically at shutdown / halt.

When I will come back in two weeks I will have a check and try it on Porteus.
I will let you know how did I solved this need.

start porteus with the cheat code "toroot" in porteus.cfg and configure your xampp to start with the system,
need solved.

I just changed my computer and now I use the Porteus 1.2 64 bits.

For this reason do you know if the XAMPP 1.7.7 is somewhere available for the 64 bits Porteus 1.2 version ?

great I used the compat32 module available here :
http://porteus.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=134

Then XAMPP works successfully on my last Porteus 1.2 64 bits.
