Netbeans seems to be a versatile IDE for developers. Not only is it one of the most popular for PHP -Web programmers, but it can be used as well for many other programing languages. You need only the corresponding patch for the desired language. The patch for C/C++ programming can be downloaded from:

To be able to run in debug mode, step by step, etc, you must have the gdb module installed. Download it from here:
