I just tried to open the Pack Manager but I get this ..........
***PORTEUS ERROR***
PPM IS ALREADY RUNNING. IF IT IS NOT THEN PLEASE REMOVE /TMP/.PPMLOCK AND RESTART.
Now my problem is I cannot find the file in order to do what it is telling me to do. So, Can I get hand please ?
I feel like this may be something very simple but I am new, So it is a little confusing to me.

Re: Package Manager Problem
open a console and change to root:
su
toor
Remove the temp file:
rm /tmp/.ppmlock
Now restart the PPM. This occurs occasionally when PPM is closed suddenly perhaps using ctrl+c and the exit function is not engaged.

Re: Package Manager Problem
welcome, crouseman!
What version and edition (32 or 64-bit) of Porteus are you running?
In whichever file manager you are using (depending on your edition of porteus and desktop environment), enable 'view hidden files', and you should be able to see /tmp/.ppmlock. The leading '.' means this is a hidden file. You would also be able to see it by opening a terminal window and entering 'ls -a /tmp', and remove it with 'rm /tmp/.ppmlock'
If you are still having issues, you might be having problems with saved changes somewhere -- try rebooting and select 'always fresh' mode from the bootloader menu, and try ppm from there.

Please take a look at our online documentation, here. Suggestions are welcome!
Re: Package Manager Problem
After I bring up the terminal and type in this "rm /tmp/.ppmlock"
It then prompts me to remove, I press "YES", Y", "enter" and none of these work, It keeps saying "CANNOT REMOVE, OPERATION NOT ALLOWED".
So what am I doing wrong ?
Oh and I believe I am running V1.2 32bit
This has been happening A LOT and up to now.... I just re-sintall the system and start over but that is ridiculous to have to do once a week or more.

I need step by step instructions, I am new to this.... So simply telling what to do does not help, lol.
