I don't know. What system are you referring to?

You can add them to your guest's folder, or globally for all users.
Let's say you want to add tty fonts globally. Open a terminal and do type su -
Give the current root password.
Copy the tty fonts as root into /usr/share/fonts/TTF/
When it suffices that only guest can use the fonts, you do not need to do it as root.
Copy as guest your fonts into ~/.local/share/fonts
When the directory ~/.local/share/fonts doesn't exist, create it.
To quote from https://superuser.com/questions/137826/ ... nts#774883
Every font that is located under any subdirectory of /usr/share/fonts and ~/.local/share/fonts is scanned and added to the collection you're able to use. So as long as your font is inside one of those two directories it is correctly located, that location is the same for almost every major linux distro.
