Strange behaviour with screen saver
Hi,
I am in trouble with screen saver, using kiosk 5.5
Everything works like a charm with chrome if not using
disable_navigation_bar=yes
With this parameter activated, screensaver terminate itself after a couple of seconds
If I remove parameter, everything return ok
I am using a scresaver rotating images with a downloaded zip url.
Any help is very appreciated
Thanks a lot

Strange behaviour with screen saver
Hello Merlinweb,
I have seen the case when Chrome generated an input event on specific webpages which broke idle time and screensaver.
Please change the homepage to something simple (no javascript stuff) like www.kernel.org and check if screensaver works.
You may also test Firefox.
Thanks

It'strange, because with bar nothing interfere and I can use screensaver, update zip file changing images, it's perfect... but I don't want to show navigation bar
No way with Firefox, every configuration I've tried after a couple of second switch off screensaver just started....
I will try with a simple page, but it's mandatory selected one
Workaround could be a long list of "white" url, but It's not a good solution
Cheers

Strange behaviour with screen saver
Tried with simple site www.kernel.org
eeeh, it's ok, screensaver work as expected
So, my only chance to get my hompage work, is keep navigation bar visible and insert all authorized site in whitelist ? (quite unhandy)
have you something more efficent/elegant workaround in your mind ?
any help is very very appreciated
Thanks in advance

This is a Chrome's fault.
Please use Firefox instead which is more suitable for the kiosk use case.
Thanks

Thanks Fanthom
But, unluckily using Firefox screensaver never start correctly, also using different config switches (hide bar ecc)
I think the only solution is chrome with nav bar showing....

Please provide your kiosk config (remove passwords, etc) so I could recreate the Firefox issue.

Last question:
is it possible to setup a configuration to return to homepage after a period ?
My idea is to create a simple splash screen as first page, but I need a way to return there if navigation stops elsewhere
thanks

1) You need to consult this issue with some web developer as the problem is not related the kiosk system.
Thanks
