Since someone complained that porteus installer is not working, I checked and found none of the scripts in "system" works due to missing libraries for gksu.
sob story:
I have only porteus-5.0rc2 -overlay edition. While using windows, it showed an ext4 partition as F: and assuming it as a pendrive, I inserted, I formatted F:.
5 or 6 linux os in that partition are gone. left with portix,nemisis and 5.0-rc2 neko-ov only now. So please be warned that windows 10 can mislead you.
Code: Select all
guest@porteus:~$ ldd /usr/bin/gksu | grep "not found"
libgksu2.so.0 => not found
libgnome-keyring.so.0 => not found

Code: Select all
root@porteus:/home/guest# /usr/bin/usmgui
widget_table_create(): The table (GtkCList) widget has been removed from GTK+ 3 and tree is recommended as a replacement.
/usr/bin/usmgui: line 3: 1691 Killed /usr/bin/usm
USM if included in rc3, should look at "slackware-current" database.

netsurf-3.10 compiled for rc3, with adwaita dark mode in mind for icons,arrows, shall be included under base. That would take care of newbies looking for a browser to start their journey, using porteus.
