I was wrong - the option exists and mysteriously works. I also found a sq4-64-bit-dpkg-lzm which makes deb2lzm running again. However dpkg itself doesn't work and always complains about not finding some static-file (with informations of installed packagages) or unable opeing update.rc.d. Tried several versions since I can convert .deb-packages now - and it was always the same. Bitdefender uses an executable .deb.run-file which assumes dpkg is on the system. It doesn't install the virus-scanner without dpkg! Tried converting the file with right-click >> convert as well. The opreation failed and did erase the content of the file!

these are auto extracting executables for various distros: read it with a text editor to see how to extract debian packages.
considering that there are a lot of proper debian packages out there, still I can't see why people here have to help you with a commercial product: as for me, you better ask next question about bitdefender on its forum, where people are paid to answer you.
this has nothing to do with dpkg on porteus, at all.
