Best Practices As "Philosophy"...

Post#1 by n0ctilucient » 23 Oct 2018, 12:43

I hadn't read the The Cathedral and the Bazaar in years until recently.

In the past I found it to be a source of inspiration when I was frustrated with my projects.
It's wealth of insight from history to possible future trends is extensive.

It's a good read for anyone that is passionate about the GNU+Linux ecosystem and community.
The book focuses heavily on the mindset that is needed to be part of a unique experiment.

You can find the book @...

Here is a critique...

Although, I strongly agree with the author's technological philosophy... I personally find his personal popular
culture social commentary just short of narrow minded... somewhat simplistic and very short sighted.

Basically... he should stick to his day job (hacker) and leave sociology to the experts with doctorates.
:hmmm: I do NOT have the "right" to tell anyone what they should do...
but I reserve the "right" to tell them what they should "consider".
