Porteus 3.1 no termina de cargar en portatil antiguo

Buenas de nuevo
Estoy intentando rescatar un viejo portatil Acer aspire 3503 wlmi (intel celeron a 1,5 Ghz, 1 Gb de Ram, gráfica integrada), una caquilla, pero que en su día me hacía su servicio y a día de hoy con win XP va lentísimo. :oops:
El caso que le meto un live de porteus KDE 32 bits, y no termina de cargar la interfaz gráfica, se queda el icono del ratón girando sobre la pantalla en negro y me toca darle botonazo. Con el escritorio LQXt me pasa lo mismo :cry:

En otras lives que he llegado a probar, le tengo que añadir nomodeset a los parámetros de inicio y arranca, pero no se ve demasiado bien

No sé que puede pasar con porteus :(

pon aqui la salida de consola o log para intentar ver que sucede. Así a ciegas es complicado ;)

Lo siento port, no entiendo muy bien a que te refieres.
No me entra en la consola, se queda la pantalla en negro con el "reloj" de carga girando y nunca termina de cargar nunca el escritorio.
Me pasa en los dos entornos kde y LQXt. He probado tb con puppy linux y tampoco carga :(
Al ejecutar desde un live CD, no se donde se crea el log :(

Creo que el problema es la tarjeta gráfica que es una "via" integrada en placa y no debe ser muy compatible con los drivers.
Antes mas, con linux mint y algún otro que probé le metía el "cheapcode" nomodeset y arrancaba. Pero son sistemas muy pesados y les cuesta mucho cargar en el portatil con lo cual no me apañaba nada

¿llegas a ver el menu de arranque de porteus? si es así prueba a arrancar con la opción de text mode, si de esta forma te arranca prueba a arrancar de nuevo en la opción por defecto (graphics mode) pero editandola previamente (te situas en ella y pulsas el tabulador [TAB]), verás una linea de letras blancas sobre fondo negro, entonces pulsas la flecha derecha durante un buen rato y finalmente tecleas un espacio y lo siguiente "vga=769" (sin las comillas claro) y le das a ENTER

con la salida de la consola me referia a lo que va escribiendo el proceso de carga en la pantalla

Sí que me llega al menú de arranque, y creo que donde me dices es donde yo trataba de poner el "nomodeset" que me funcionaba en otras distros
Voy a probar con el parámetro que me dices a ver si hay suerte. Ya te comentaré :friends:
Es curioso ayer probé con un viejo ISO de slax y sí arrancaba el modo gráfico :unknown:

Ya he probado y ocurre lo mismo :(
Después de ver y pasar todos los menus de carga, los textos... llego a una pantalla gris con un puntero/reloj azul redondo que parece que está cargando el escritorio, pero que no termina nunca de cargar.
La "salida de la consola" mientras va cargando, no muestra ningún error

Esto pasa con los drivers de linux. Con los drivers de NVidia que tengo para el pc, no sale ni el puntero (lógico)
Ya te digo, es extraño que en una versión más antigua de slax lo arranque, y con esta no :oops:
Igual busco alguna versíon previa de porteus?

Lo que he descubierto el plobp boot manager que me permite arrancar desde usb (no tengo soporte bios) y me ha dado un alegrón :Yahoo!:

Confirmo que la versión 1.0 y la 2.1 si carga :)
No entiendo por qué fallará la 3.1, pero para el uso que quiero darle, con la 2.1creo me será suficiente :)
Lo que sí tengo que investigar como instalarla en el disco duro interno

cuando te aparezca esa pantalla gris con el reloj azul, pulsa a la vez las teclas ctrl-alt-F1 y si te sale una pantalla negra que te pide login teclea root y luego la password, aparecerá una consola, en ella ejecuta:

# cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log > ~/xlog.txt
y luego pon aquí el contenido del fichero xlog.txt

Por otro lado, ¿has podido arrancar en modo texto?

si con ello te refieres a una instalación normal de un sistema linux, sin formato live, te diré que oficialmente no es posible y extraoficialmente cuesta un poco ;-)

si te refieres a que funcione en el disco duro, sin depender de un usb o un cd, entonces es facil, usa el instalador oficial de porteus: menú porteus -> system -> Porteus Installer y sigue las instrucciones

Tengo pendiente ejecutar el comando que me indicas, estos días no para mucho en casa. Ya te pondré el resultado :good:
En modo texto si que se que arranca, y ahí tecleo init 4 para pasar a modo gráfico y también falla, llego a la misma pantalla gris con un relojito azul girando.

Ya había leido algo al respecto, que la instalación "fácil" no era una instalación como tal, y la extraoficial se complicaba. :oops:
Bueno, tampoco pasa nada, con el pendrive y porteus 2.1 de momento me apaño bien sin instalar ni nada :)

Por fin he sacado un momento, tampoco cuesta nada :)
Me sobraba un ~ que no podía escribir (me sale el teclado en inglés en la consola), pero creo que sin él ha funcionado igual :)

parece que tu problema es con el dirver SIS, ejecuta este comando y pon aquí el resultado:

# lspci | grep VGA
luego este comando y de nuevo pon el resultado:

Code: Select all

# lsmod | grep -i sis
también dime si tienes algún fichero en el directorio /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/ especialmente alguno que contenga sis en el nombre

Lo he intentado enviar a un log pero me sale vacío
He tecleado

no lo encuentro en el teclado, que me sale en inglés mientras no carga la interfaz gráfica (aunque en los parámetros de inicio le especifico español)

desde la terminal le he hecho un "dir" (no se si es el comando adecuado), y me sale vacío.
Tengo que buscar los comandos de linux porteus qu yo los que me sé son los de dos...
En modo gráfico mirándolo con otro ordenador, el directorio me sale vacío también
