There is a way, but it seems to be too much fun.

porteus boots too fast - splash would be displayed literally for few seconds so i see no point in implementing the bootsplash.
Please add [Solved] to your thread title if the solution was found.

I believe the OP is referring to the Porteus menu screen where one selects what mode to boot; GUI, Always Fresh, etc. It could be on display for an extended period.

samirjakiro,

Can you clarify whether you are referring to the boot menu or boot screen with fast scrolling text?

If you are referring to the boot screen with fast scrolling text, I'd think it's better to have text (even if scrolling fast) than graphics. (1) It keeps the distro free from bells and whistles. (2) It gives some insight into boot process (should something go wrong, we would have better understanding of what went worng).

If you are referring to the boot menu with text, Porteus does come with a background image. In case you would like to change it, you can follow the procedure here: http://forum.porteus.org/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=4965
