Which of the "spins" (e.g., Xfce, OpenBox...) would be best for a netbook with a small (1024x600) screen? (Lenovo S10, 1.6 GHz N270 Atom CPU, 1.5 GB RAM, running from a 64GB USB drive.) Thanks!

hi, welcome to Porteus forum :)
in order of base RAM usage (lowest to highest): openbox, lxde or lxqt, xfce, mate or cinnamon, kde ..
i'd say any of openbox, lxde, lxqt, or xfce should be okay.. (they'd all run, but there'd less ram available for a web browser, which is usually the biggest ram hog)
