I am new to Poerteus (and Slackware, first time actually), so I;m now on Porteus-KDE-v5.0rc3-x86_64 from a USB stick.
I am trying to find a way to install software, I read and tried some commands I found here.
So, "usm" and "installpkg" commands are not found!guest@porteus:~/Downloads/Software$ usm -u all
bash: usm: command not found
guest@porteus:~/Downloads/Software$ zim
bash: zim: command not found
guest@porteus:~/Downloads/Software$ installpkg zim
bash: installpkg: command not found
guest@porteus:~/Downloads/Software$
EDIT: right click -> convert tgz to xzm did nothing (maybe put somewhere?)
How can I install software?
Is there a package manager?
Sorry if this has been asked before, but... that's all I could find.
Thank you.
UPDATE:
I downloaded and installed from sourceforge, then
guest@porteus:~$ usm -u all
Only root can do that.
guest@porteus:~$ sudo usm -u all
We trust you have received the usual lecture from the local System

#1) Respect the privacy of others.
#2) Think before you type.
#3) With great power comes great responsibility.
