From 1909. Why did mine go so bad? I don't know, but I have nothing exotic in my setup.

That's what M$ is infamous for.

I plan in future to seperately download the ISO for any major version uprade and work from that. HeiDoc is one place to get URLs at M$, so they are official ISOs.

While I don't mind using ISOs, I think for me backups are a better idea. Also I partition my drive such that the OS is on the c: drive, all my files, including the Users folders, are on the d: drive and the e: drive is for my system backups (and occasionally I do system backups to a separate USB harddrive) thus OS updates don't impact my files (Pictures, Favorites, Documents, utilities, ISOs, etc).
