you mean boot/syslinux/porteus.cfg?
since that's the syslinux boot menu (via syslinux.cfg > INCLUDE porteus.cfg), you would have some trouble booting, i would think..

It didn't get removed, I was just curious about the effects of removing it.

When curious about the effects of deleting a file try renaming it first. Xporteus.cfg for example. If you don't like the results, rename the file back to it's original name.

hi extlinux config is linked to porteus.cfg,maybe i am wrong but without this file syslinux do not show anything,so no system boot.
