Buongiorno,
รจ la priva volta che mi approccio a linux, ho istallato su un vecchio portatile ''Porteus-LXQT-v4.0-i586'', l'unica che mi funzionava:( (il pc ha solo 512 di RAM).
Lo voglio usare solo per navigazione internet ed ovviamente non riconosce la scheda di rete
Ho seguito varie guide, senza successo...credo di capire che devo scaricare i driver su una penna usb per poi installarli dato che non ricevo connessione neppure con il cavo ethernet (sempre se non bisogna configurare qualcosa anche li)
Come posso fare?

it is the first time that I approach linux, I installed on an old laptop '' Porteus-LXQT-v4.0-i586 '', the only one that worked for me

I want to use it only for internet browsing and obviously it doesn't recognize the network card: evil:
I have followed various guides, without success ... i think i must to put the drivers on a USB stick and then install them.
For the ethernet connection, is it necessary setting something?
What i can do?

hi, try to connect the cable and in console or terminal write: ip link and you can see if you have a device name like eth0 or eth1 and so on, if you have this check ok ,write dhcpcd eth? see if you have a cable connection first,we have to know the wifi card name or model,ok try for cable connection and report if work for you.

...should be supported by the b44 driver.
so maybe this network driver is probably blacklisted.
open the broadcom blacklist files in /etc/modprobe.d/ in a text editor
and if there is a line blacklist b44, comment this out > save > reboot.

There are 2 file:
broadcom_blacklist.conf(inside this blacklist b43)
b43_nlacklist.conf
in the last, there is blacklist b44,but when i try to save the text editor show me :
Cannot be saved!
permission denied.

You have to be root to edit/save that file.
use a root filemanager or log in as root.

the ethernet cable or the net device do not work you do not have anyone seem in slackware you have to use su not sudo: su password and you are root,you can do all the task....

if i Type 'su' , after i can't write the password.
however, i open the file with the terminal(root), and i change the 'blacklist b44 '' in '#blacklist b44 .
can I share the driver to usb with another pc and after put that in porteus?

i connected the ethernet and i can navigate,what is the next step to install the driver wifi?

hi your wifi card is Ethernet controller: InProComm Inc. IPN 2220 802.11g and if you search there are only the windows driver for this device, but you can use ndiswrapper to load it, isn't trivial this task, maybe this link can help you is for ubuntu system:
