TOTAL NEWBIE Limited Tech with Linux - wanting to remove Porteus

When Pier One Imports went out of business, they sold all their assets, to include a PC with Porteus Kiosk installed. I purchased one of these PCs and I am wanting to wipe the computer clean and load Windows back on it.

I created a USB stick with the ISO files for Windows 10. I have restarted the PC numerous times with the USB installed and also put the stick post startup and it won't outrun the stick.

Every time it goes straight to the kiosk page.

Any suggestions please! (with easy to follow instructions)

Have you changed the pc's BIOS/UEFI startup options to boot the USB stick 1st?

Hello DowntownBike,

Are your sure this PC meets Windows 10 hardware requirements?
I think EFI firmware is required for Windows to work. Do you have it on your PC or only BIOS?

You may better as Microsoft support as i have no clue how to instrall this system (do not use it).

Thanks

I have Windows 10 on a BIOS based Acer netbook, so no EFI is not required. Not sure if GPT partitioning is required.
