Burning ISO to USB

Post#1 by Jovian » 02 Aug 2020, 05:04

Hello there
I am currently running porteus on my laptop. I want to dual boot it with elementary OS so I would like to burn the ISO file to a USB. I am having a lot of trouble doing so so any help would be greatly appreciated

Burning ISO to USB

Are you following the steps in the USB_INSTALLATION.txt file in the ISO?

Formatting the USB drive as FAT32, copying the ISO files to the USB drive then running the Porteus-installer in the USB's boot folder works for me.

I tried the create live USB application but it says illegal file. Using dd command didn't help either

Your right Jovian I didn't understand your request and until burdi01 posted I was still confused. To copy the ISO to the USB drive a simple cp or mv command should work but you want a bootable ISO on the USB drive. :o
